Talking about emcees though, to this day the two who I always thought were Wu-Tang-caliber were Pop The Brown Hornet and Scotty Wotty the Jackpot. Scotty was GZA’s rhyme partner and he was just dope. Dope, dope, dope, dope! Him and GZA fathered that whole Park Hill style that you hear in Meth and Raekwon. Those are the Park Hill styles that they learned from GZA and Scotty. Scotty was just one of those people who had an innate amazing talent to rhyme. You have cats who can learn words and study patterns and recite other’s rapper’s words for days, but they’ll never ever come close to being as natural as someone like Scotty.
